A 22-year-old man remains in custody following an early morning dispute that escalated into an armed assault on Mariners Way late last week.
According to court records from the Titusville Police Department, Officer Andrew Dominguez responded at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, to the 300 block of Mariners Way after reports of an altercation involving a firearm.
At the scene, Officer Dominguez spoke with an adult male victim who reported that an individual known to him as “Josh”—described as a white male with a beard, wearing a camouflage T-shirt and light-colored shorts—pulled a black Glock pistol from his waistband and aimed it at him.
During the confrontation, the suspect threatened to shoot the victim before striking him on the left side of the face with the bottom of the handgun.
Officers observed facial injuries consistent with the assault, though the victim declined further medical treatment at the scene. An independent witness provided a sworn statement corroborating the account, stating she saw the suspect aim the weapon, threaten to shoot, and pistol-whip the victim in the face.
Responding officers stopped and detained a suspect matching the description nearby at 318 Mariners Way. The man, identified as 22-year-old Joshua Chandler Parks, had a black firearm in his possession. The victim was brought to the scene in a patrol vehicle for a show-up identification and positively identified Parks as his attacker.

Arrest documents list Parks’ residence status as homeless. He was taken into custody at 3:51 a.m. and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
Parks appeared for an initial court hearing Friday afternoon before Judge Clarissa Harrell in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court, where probable cause was formally found. Declared indigent, Parks was appointed representation by the Public Defender’s Office and ordered to pay a $50 application fee.
Judge Harrell set Parks’ total bond at $20,000 cash or surety, broken down by charge:

Brown at the Moore Justice Center in Viera.
Titusville Police Chief Tyler Wright condemned the violent confrontation, praising the responding officers for intervening before the situation worsened.
“Threatening someone with a firearm and resorting to violence over a disagreement is unacceptable and puts lives at risk,” Wright said. “I am proud of our officers, who not only acted quickly to identify and apprehend the suspect, but also prevented the potential for further violence. The safety of our community remains our highest priority, and we will continue to hold those who engage in violent criminal behavior accountable.”
