The American Red Cross of North and Central Florida has opened an emergency shelter in Titusville to assist residents displaced by widespread flooding following a historic rain event in the area.

The severe weather dumped over 15 inches of rain in parts of Brevard County between October 26 and 27, 2025, according to National Weather Service reports. The highest official rain amount recorded was 15.57 inches near Port Saint John. Titusville precipitation amounts topped 14.67 inches in some areas, contributing to widespread flash flooding.

The shelter is located at the First United Methodist Church of Titusville, 206 S. Hopkins Ave., and is operating in partnership with the City of Titusville.

It provides a safe place for affected residents, offering essentials like cots, blankets, meals, and essential care items. All Red Cross services are available free of charge to anyone in need of support.

Officials Seek Damage Reports to Guide Recovery
The torrential rain over the past 24 hours has led to extreme flash flooding across parts of northern Brevard County, prompting road closures and rescue operations in low-lying areas.

County officials are urging residents whose homes have been damaged or flooded to submit a report to help assess community-wide impacts and guide recovery efforts.

Residents can report damage to their home or property using the following link:
Brevard County Resident Damage Self-Report Form: https://crisistrack.juvare.com/public/brevardFL/request.html

This form is crucial for data collection by Emergency Management and is not an application for direct financial assistance. Residents should be prepared to provide their property address, name, and photos of the damage.

Red Cross Offers Support
Janice Moran, executive director of the American Red Cross Central Florida Coast, confirmed the need for the community response. “After last night’s storms and today’s continued rain, we are working closely with local government agencies and faith-based organizations to address the needs of residents in our community,” Moran said. “We are committed to helping Brevard County and providing services for the families impacted.”
