Two Titusville men were arrested and four firearms were seized on May 8 following a joint investigation into a recent spike in local gun violence.
Detectives with the Titusville Police Department and officers from the Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Office targeted a residence at 844 Gibson St. after receiving credible tips. The home was linked to multiple shots-fired incidents reported in the area on April 11, April 14, and May 6, according to authorities.

During the operation, detectives arrested Jermain Antonio Wright III, 24, after finding two loaded, concealed handguns on his person. Wright, who is a convicted felon, was carrying a Smith & Wesson .40-caliber handgun and a Sig Sauer 9mm handgun, both of which were confirmed stolen.
Wright was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and is being held at the Brevard County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
State probation officers also arrested Laquavis Montrell Brown, 24, at the scene for violation of community control. Officers observed Brown exiting a tow-behind recreational vehicle in the backyard of the property before he approached them.
After spotting a live round of ammunition near the entrance of the RV, detectives secured a search warrant for the vehicle. Inside, investigators recovered a Pioneer Arms Hellpup AK-style pistol and a Kel-Tec SUB-2000 rifle.

The AK-style pistol was equipped with a vertical foregrip, which Titusville police noted may violate the federal National Firearms Act because the weapon was not properly registered. Brown is currently being held at the Brevard County Detention Center without bond.
“The Titusville Police Department remains committed to reducing gun violence through proactive enforcement efforts, strategic partnerships, and intelligence-led policing,” Deputy Chief Wright said in a statement. “Investigations involving illegal firearms and violent crime continue to be a priority as the department works to enhance public safety.”
Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed. The prior shots-fired incidents remain under active investigation.
Anyone with information regarding these cases is urged to contact the Titusville Police Department at 321-264-7800, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Line at 1-800-423-TIPS.
