Suspect Arrested for Battery and Multiple Robberies

A local man was arrested for battery and two robberies of multiple victims that occurred just minutes apart.

Angel Medina Rivas, 25, of Titusville, was charged with

Strong Armed Robbery,
Robbery by Sudden Snatching

Theft and Battery.

The preliminary investigation revealed that on Wednesday February 5th 2020 at approximately 3:00 PM, the suspect approached two victim walking southbound near the 800 block of South Park Avenue. The suspect forcibly grabbed a cooler containing valuables, which was carried by one of the victims.

A few minutes later, the suspect approached another victim at a bus stop near the intersection of South Park Avenue and South Street. The suspected attempted to steal a black satchel style bag from the victim. A struggle ensued resulting in the battery of the the victim by the suspect. A bystander interrupted the crime and the suspect fled on foot. The victim suffered minor injuries.

An observant Titusville Police Officer quickly located the suspect holding the stolen cooler nearby on Brown Avenue. 

The suspect was identified by witnesses and taken into custody at
3:25 PM.

Rivas was booked into Brevard County Jail.
