Kroger is set to end its direct grocery delivery service for Brevard County residents on Feb. 1, 2026, following the closure of its automated fulfillment center in Groveland, Florida.
The shutdown of the facility, which serves the Space Coast, is scheduled for January 2026 as part of a broader corporate strategy shift.

Fulfillment Center Closure Announced
Kroger announced on Nov. 18, 2025, that three major automated fulfillment centers, including the Groveland site, would be closing in early 2026. This decision effectively cuts off direct Kroger delivery access for residents across Brevard County and the surrounding areas.
The Groveland center, which opened in 2021 to serve Central Florida, including the Space Coast, did not meet the performance benchmarks set by Kroger for long-term success, the company stated. The move is also impacting facilities in Wisconsin and Maryland.
Shift to Third-Party Partners
The closures are part of Kroger’s effort to make its delivery operations faster and more profitable by focusing on alternative solutions. The grocery giant plans to continue delivery in some markets through expanded partnerships with third-party services like Instacart and DoorDash.
However, direct Kroger fulfillment deliveries will no longer be an option for Brevard County customers after the Feb. 1, 2026 cutoff date. Residents who relied on the service have begun receiving email notifications regarding the end of the service.
Local Customer Impact
The change means customers who relied on the direct delivery service will lose access to a convenient, timesaving option.
“I’m really disappointed,” said one Brevard County resident who received the email notification. “It was the easiest way to get groceries delivered right to my door.”
The company plans to prioritize other solutions to keep its operations viable, but the impact will be felt by local customers across the Space Coast who appreciated the original direct service.
