Cape Canaveral-based Sidus Space has tapped Alan Khalili to serve as chief financial officer, the firm announced July 24th. His appointment takes effect today, Monday, July 27, 2026.
Sidus employees around 100 people according to most estimates, with most of their employees seated in Cape Canaveral just off of Atlantic Avenue. Formed as Craig Technologies Aerospace Solutions in 2012, the company was renamed Sidus Space, Inc. on August 13, 2021. The firm held an IPO on December 15, 2021. The company’s customers include the US Missile Defense Agency, NASA, and others, with total revenue in 2025 of around $3.4M/US, and its main product is LizzieSat, a manufactured, company-operated satellite and sensor platform.
Khalili arrives with more than 20 years of senior finance experience across the space, satellite, and technology sectors, at both publicly traded firms and privately held ventures. His background spans investment banking and public accounting, a co-founding role at a company that built a satellite-based aviation surveillance data platform, and an earlier tenure as a public company CFO. The company points to his work in corporate finance, SEC reporting and internal controls, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and organizational scaling.
In the role he assumes control of the entire finance function, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, internal controls, compliance, capital allocation and investor relations support. Sidus expects him to help advance its commercialization push and growth strategy across government and commercial customers.
Rough Seas For Sidus Are Smoothing According To Founder
Sidus founder, CEO, and Chairman Carol Craig said the past year brought a strengthened balance sheet, a broader technology portfolio and measurable progress toward commercializing the company’s products. She cited Khalili’s record leading finance organizations through periods of transformation and described him as “a strong addition to our executive leadership team.” Craig tied his hiring to three near-term priorities: scaling satellite manufacturing, commercializing the Fortis VPX digital mission computing platform and artificial intelligence products, and building recurring revenue.
Khalili succeeds John Burke, who held the CFO post on an interim basis during the company’s transition.
