The crash occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on December 18 near the intersection of North Singleton Avenue and Wilderness Lane. Police said Santiago, driving a 2018 Nissan Altima, struck a juvenile riding a Coleman mini motorbike and fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

The injured juvenile was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
Investigators, following strong leads, identified and located the suspected vehicle, which was seized as evidence. Santiago was identified as the driver of the vehicle. Officers arrested him at his residence, and he was booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond.
The investigation remains active, and further details will be released as traffic crash investigators conclude their work, according to police spokesperson Amy Matthews.
