The Titusville Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team has achieved a milestone, earning a 5th place ranking in the 2024 SWAT Round-Up International, making them the top-performing SWAT team in Brevard County.

The competition, held in Orlando, Florida, drew 50 elite SWAT teams from across the globe, showcasing some of the finest tactical specialists.

Over five days, teams competed in a series of high-intensity events that demanded not only physical prowess but also mental acuity. Events like the Tower Scramble, Pricher Scramble, Officer Rescue, Hostage Rescue, and an extensive obstacle course tested competitors’ strength, speed, stamina, and firearms accuracy. Teams were evaluated on their situational awareness and ability to make rapid, accurate decisions under pressure—essential skills for real-world crisis situations.

“This was the second year that Titusville SWAT competed at the Round-Up, going head-to-head with teams that have been participating for over a decade,” said SWAT Commander Mark Jennings.

“It was amazing to see the culture of our entire agency displayed by this team on an international stage. Their hard work, dedication, physical fitness, team mentality, and decision-making got them where they are, and I could not be prouder of their performance.”

The Titusville SWAT team is a specialized unit within the police department. Months of preparation, training, and conditioning went into their Round-Up efforts, reflecting the high standards of commitment and discipline required in their field.

As the highest-ranked SWAT team in Brevard County, Titusville’s success at the 2024 SWAT Round-Up showcases the team’s dedication and skill, raising the bar for tactical response units throughout the region.
