Below is a summary of the agenda for the upcoming City Council meeting scheduled for September 12, 2023, at 6:30 PM in the Council Chamber at City Hall.

The Mayor will present two proclamations during the meeting. The first will declare September 2023 as National Suicide Prevention Month, and the second will proclaim September 17-23, 2023, as Constitution Week.

The Council will confirm the appointments of Sydney Lelle from Astronaut High School, Simon Williams from Titusville High School, and Pauline Hopping from Academic Community Enrichment, Inc., to the 2023/2024 Student Advisory Council.

The Council will discuss the renewal of all lines of insurance coverage for Fiscal Year 2024 at a premium of $1,398,636, marking an increase from last year’s cost of $950,036.38. Additionally, the Council will consider various vendor contracts and budget amendments for the upcoming fiscal year.

Two significant contracts are up for approval. The first is a Lead & Copper Service Line Inspections Contract, not to exceed $2,000,000, aimed at developing an EPA-mandated service line inventory. The second is the Blue Heron Reuse Pump Improvements Project, with a contract amount of $768,958.

The Council will also consider adopting Resolution No. 23-2023, which establishes rules of decorum for all City Boards. Several ordinances are also up for first and second readings, including amendments to pension plans and land use designations.

The meeting will include time for petitions and requests from the public on non-agenda items.
