The Titusville City Council has announced a packed agenda for its upcoming meeting on August 22, 2023, at 6:30 pm at City Hall.

The meeting will cover a wide range of topics that are vital to the community, including special recognitions, board appointments, urban planning, and more.

The meeting will begin with special recognitions and presentations. If there’s not enough time at the preliminary 5:30 pm meeting, the presentations will be moved to the main meeting at 6:30 pm.

Several key appointments and reviews are on the agenda, including the appointment of members to the North Brevard Commission on Parks and Recreation and the North Brevard Library District Board.

The Council will also review recommendations to amend the city’s Accessory Dwelling Unit regulations and evaluate the Titusville Environmental Commission’s Concept Plan of Proposed Urban Forestry Program.

The consent agenda includes a variety of important items, such as the approval of lease agreements at the Harry T. Moore Social Service Center and the extension of the Brooks Landing preliminary plat site development permit.

The Council will also consider approving a $152,869 grant for Brevard County’s Prisoner Transportation Program and a renewal of Medical Excess Stop Loss Insurance with Symetra.

Several ordinances and amendments are up for discussion, including Resolution No. 19-2023, which confirms and certifies the rate and annual Stormwater Utility assessment roll.

The Council will also conduct second readings and public hearings for small scale amendments and rezoning at specific locations, including Whipple Street and South Park Avenue.

Under new business, the Council will consider a road closure for the Dream Cars 4 Kids Car Show on September 17, 2023, and accept a letter of support for the “Resilient Titusville Update and Adaptation Plan” project proposal.

Additionally, the Council will discuss the advisability of adopting the Local Option Affordable Housing Property Tax Exemption.

The meeting is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend to voice their opinions and stay informed about the decisions that impact the community.

The August 22 meeting promises to be a significant one, with decisions that could shape the future of Titusville. From urban planning to community services, the City Council is set to address issues that touch every aspect of life in the city.
