The Titusville – Melborune – Palm Bay comes in at #9 on a Top 10 list of metro areas where first-time homebuyers can have it all—a mortgage and the perks of a metropolitan area—according to Move.org.
With the burgeoning space industry, giving Brevard County the nickname of the “Space Coast”, the Titusville area has seen growth in new construction of single-family homes as well as creating a shortage of already-built homes, creating a ‘sellers market’, with a median sold home price of $202,000
Other metro areas with populations around or over 650,000 and median prices under or around $250,000 are Cape Coral-Fort Myers, FL; Boise City, ID; Baton Rouge, LA; Greenville-Anderson, SC; Ogden-Clearfield, UT; Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville, FL; and Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach, FL.
Surprisingly, four of these affordable areas are in Florida, meaning living within driving distance to a beach is within reach for first-time buyers.
Traditionally, the higher the population, the higher the demand for homes, and the higher the prices. But these lists show that you can live in a populous area without spending a lot of money. Melbourne, for example, rivals Titusville when it comes to people. And with a median home price that’s overall less, combined with cost-of-living, Titusville is far more affordable for nearly everyone.
Whether you’re looking to buy an already built home with a realtor, or build a custom-designed home, a surge of first-time homebuyers in Titusville are bringing this little town back to it’s former glory of a bustling city, rich in space history, awesome local businesses, and the Beauty of the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.
