A local man and juvenile have been arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle and stolen handgun after an attempted traffic stop by police.
Jarvis Kelly, 23, of Titusville, was charged with Resisting Arrest Without Violence. The juvenile was also charged with Resisting Arrest Without Violence.
At approximately 9:50 PM, on Thursday, August 20, 2020, Titusville Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2018 black Honda CR-V traveling northbound on South Brown Ave without headlights and taillights in operation.
The suspects in the vehicle did not comply, fled at a high rate of speed westbound on Blanton Street, crashed two blocks away and fled on foot.
Officers established a search perimeter, located two of the suspects with the assistance of Titusville Police K9 Chase and they were taken into custody without further incident at approximately 10:10 PM.
The additional suspect(s) remain at large.
The preliminary investigation has revealed the 2018 black Honda CR-V driven by the suspects was stolen out of Rockledge. Additionally, a stolen handgun was recovered from the inside console of the vehicle.
Jarvis Kelly was booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond.
The juvenile suspect was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and is awaiting a future court date.
There were no other injuries.
