A 63-year-old motorcyclist died as a result of injuries he sustained in a vehicle crash that occurred just at 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020, on U.S. Highway 1 near the intersection of Wiley Avenue in Mims, Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist from Columbus, Ohio was riding a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound in the northbound lane of U.S.1
Meanwhile, 30-year-old Joseph Dillon of Mims, Florida was driving a Kia Forte northbound in the northbound lane of U.S. 1. The front of the Kia then struck the Harley Davidson head-on.
The Ohio man was transported to Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, Florida where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
His identity has not been released pending next-of-kin notification.
A toxicology report is pending.
The crash remains under investigation.
