Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · What You Missed · About a 3-minute read
Good morning, Titusville. A scrub, a dawn launch, and a hearing that could reshape the Cape — here is what happened, and what is next.
THE 3 THAT MATTER
- Bandwagon-5 flies at dawn after Monday’s scrub
After Monday’s attempt was called off for unfavorable recovery weather, SpaceX’s Bandwagon-5 Falcon 9 lifted off Tuesday at 7:04 AM EDT from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, carrying 32 small satellites to a mid-inclination orbit. Booster B1085, flying its 19th mission, landed on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic — no sonic boom over Titusville.

LAUNCH WATCH
No launch is scheduled today — Tuesday’s flight went up on time, so the Wednesday backup window was not needed. SpaceCoastLaunchCalendar.com, checked this morning, lists the next mission as Amazon Leo (LV-01) on a Vulcan, listed for Wednesday, October 28 at 8:00 PM. Dates move often — Talk of Titusville confirms every launch on launch day.

ROADS, CITY & SAFETY
No road closures were verified on the City of Titusville official website this run. Two city notices stay in effect: chlorine dosing of the water system runs through October 30 — tap water remains safe to drink, though taste or odor may change — and solid-waste pickups may run late; leave items curbside until collected.

ONE FROM HISTORY / SPACE
37 years ago today — October 21, 1989 — a Delta II lifted off from Launch Complex 17A at Cape Canaveral carrying USA-47, the fourth GPS Block II satellite — the first operational generation of the Global Positioning System. It entered service that November, outlasted its 7½-year design life, and stayed on duty until 2001.
