Driving behavior in Titusville school zones is seeing a dramatic shift as the city’s automated speed camera program completed its first month of the 2026–2027 school year.

According to data released by the Titusville Police Department and automated traffic vendor Altumint, total recorded speeding violations dropped by nearly 54% between mid-August and late September, signaling that drivers are slowing down near local campuses.

Total captured events fell from 6,499 in August down to 2,992 in September, driving the daily violation average down from nearly 295 per day to 136 per day.

Across the entire 20-camera enforcement network, the program logged 9,491 total events over the month-long period. Local officers approved 6,646 of those incidents for formal processing, resulting in 4,431 mailed civil citations and 2,064 warnings.

Operational efficiency also improved noticeably over the period, with system rejection rates falling from 31.3% in August down to 14.9% in September as camera equipment and review protocols stabilized.
