Starting March 1, 2026, the City of Titusville’s Water Conservation Program is tipping its hat to green thumbs by bringing back the fan-favorite March Mulch Madness.

If you are a City of Titusville residential water customer, this is your chance to save water, improve your curb appeal, and get a little kickback on your monthly bill.

What is March Mulch Madness?
It’s a simple incentive designed to help your landscape thrive during the upcoming Florida heat. For every 4 bags of plain pine bark mulch you purchase during the month of March, the City will provide a $5 credit on your water bill.

Bags PurchasedWater Bill Credit
4 Bags$5.00
8 Bags$10.00
12 Bags (Maximum)$15.00

Note: Bags must be at least 1.5 cubic feet. Since credits are issued in increments of four, make sure to grab that 8th or 12th bag to maximize your savings!

Why Pine Bark?
Maureen Phillips, Titusville’s Water Conservation & Public Outreach Manager, emphasizes that choosing the right mulch matters. “March Mulch Madness gives our water customers yet another way to save water in their yards,” Phillips explains. Unlike dyed or rubber mulches, plain pine bark:

  • Retains Moisture: Keeps roots cool and hydrated, reducing the need for frequent watering.
  • Eco-Friendly: Made from discarded tree material and won’t leach chemicals into your soil.
  • Soil Health: Over time, it improves soil structure and reduces compaction.
  • Weed Control: Naturally suppresses those pesky spring weeds.

How to Score Your Rebate
Participating is easy, but you’ll want to keep your eyes on the calendar and your receipts.

  1. Shop Anywhere: Buy your plain pine bark mulch (nuggets are fine too!) at the store of your choice between March 1 and March 31, 2026.
  2. Check Your Receipt: Ensure the receipt is dated and explicitly mentions “pine bark,” “bark,” or “pine nuggets.”
  3. Submit Your Application: You must submit your form and receipts by April 6, 2026.

Where to Apply:

  • Online: Visit www.titusville.com/mulch to upload your receipts (JPG or PDF).
  • By Mail: If you can’t upload, print the form and mail it with your receipts to:
    Mulch Madness
    City of Titusville Conservation
    2910 Garden Street

Why Only Single-Family Homes?

This program specifically targets single-family residential customers because statistics show that over 50% of all lawns are over-watered, often due to high-maintenance turf. By adding mulch to plant beds and around trees, you significantly reduce the amount of water needed to keep your landscape looking lush.

Don’t miss out—help your plants “smile” and keep some extra cash in your pocket this spring! For more details, call 321-567-3865 (option 1).

  1. How about pine straw instead of bark? Puts the same nutrients in soil.
