A staple of the Space Coast waterfront is coming to an abrupt end. On Saturday, January 3, 2026, reports surfaced that Shiloh’s Steak & Seafood will permanently close its doors after its final day of service tomorrow, Sunday, January 4.

The news has sent shockwaves through the community, as the restaurant has long served as the premier “front-row seat” for rocket launches, offering iconic views of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center from its outdoor deck.

The announcement has been met with frustration from some members of the community. Reports indicate that the closure was shared with staff on very short notice, allegedly leaving nearly 50 employees without jobs as the new year begins.

“It’s a sad time when the owners of a big restaurant in Titusville can’t even give a notice to its employees,” shared Tyler Gatewood in a local community forum. Gatewood also cautioned residents who may have purchased gift cards during the holiday season to visit the restaurant before it shuts down for good on Sunday night.

Amidst the criticism regarding the timing of the closure, long-time local business owner Tim Curtis stepped forward to offer a call for empathy. Curtis reminded the community of the immense personal burdens the Sanders family has carried while operating the high-volume establishment.

Specifically, Curtis pointed to the profound grief the family has endured in recent years, including the loss of a son and the 2022 passing of the restaurant’s founder and patriarch, Louis Sanders. Sanders, who also founded the original Porky’s in Mims, was remembered for his “big heart and personality” and his lifelong passion for the outdoors and his family.

“Life changes happen… this family has experienced the loss of a son and the loss of a father,” Curtis wrote. “I can promise you running that business for that family was a very stressful situation. My hats off to them… now as far as the Sanders family go, enjoy your life.”

As the “Talk of Titusville” shifts toward what will become of the prime real estate at 3665 S. Washington Ave, many hope for a new chapter that lives up to the location’s potential.

While some residents expressed disappointment in the food or pricing in recent months, the overwhelming sentiment remains one of loss for a venue that hosted countless birthdays, anniversaries, and historic launch days.

For those wishing to say goodbye to the staff and enjoy one last meal by the Indian River, Shiloh’s is expected to remain open through Sunday evening, January 4.

Bring in your Shilohs gift card for a one time $20 discount at Vine & Olive or The Native Bar & Grill. They have no way of knowing the balance of your gift card as we are not affiliated in any way with Shilohs. 1. Who the hell cares what loser Tim Curtis thinks lol

    1. Who hurt you, Whatever your problem is has nothing to do with the restaurant , you might need to look within yourself. The biggest loser is you.

Hopefully another family style restaurant will open there! Titusville has very few restaurants that are affordable for familys.
Shiloh’s was expensive, according to people tha have eaten there! The only time I tried to go there, I wasn’t allowed in because my shirt didn’t have a collar.
    Never went back!

  3. Actually, it’s not anyone’s damn business why a mom and pop has to close. Stay in your own lane peeps

  4. Hope something else good comes in there, and not more apartments!

  5. Please, no condos, PLEASE!!!!!

  6. Bad food , even worse service that wait staff could care less about you . We sat forever waiting for them to take our order finally I got up and went and found someone to take it . After that we waited and waited and waited finally someone not our waitress brought our food never saw any one again everytime we needed something we had to go find wait staff who were all talking etc . So when we were finished no one came for a bill and we went and asked for one and then the waitress showed up expecting a tip . We gave her exactly what she deserved both times the first time we thought maybe it was a bad night not busy as no one was there the second night we got waited on by the waitress she took our order and a big group of about ten came in and she left our table in mid sentence and rushed right over there and we never saw her again the whole night or anyone else we had to get up and go find someone when we needed anything this place was a joke and that’s part of the reason it’s not around the food sucked and was overpriced but that did not bother me as much as the service and food quality

    1. I had probably eaten at Shilohs 40 times over the years and never once did I ever have bad service or bad food! Just my 2 cents worth. RIP Shiloh’s!

    2. I concur.
