Red, White, & Boom! 2025 Planning
City staff seek approval to begin organizing the July 4th celebration at Chain of Lakes Park, with an estimated budget of $43,775. The event will feature live entertainment, food vendors, and fireworks. A portion of the costs will be offset by local business sponsorships.
Zoning and Land Use Amendments
Two major ordinances will undergo final readings:
- Royal Manor Townhomes: A proposal to rezone 5.74 acres at Barna Avenue and Day Street from single-family to multifamily housing, following a revised recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission.
- 2960 Columbia Boulevard: A first reading to rezone 3.14 acres from residential to commercial use, aligning with a plan to introduce high-intensity commercial development.
City Manager Search Firm Selection
Council members will review proposals from executive search firms to lead the recruitment of a new City Manager, with a recommended contract cap of $34,500 for Colin Baenziger & Associates.
Shade Structure Replacements
A $82,481 contract with Rep Services, Inc. to replace aging fabric on shade structures at Julia and Nevins Courts will be voted on. The project, funded by the Community Redevelopment Agency, aims to enhance downtown aesthetics and safety.
