Brevard County is calling on residents to share their ideas and recommendations through its annual Speak Up Brevard initiative, running until January 31st, 2025

This program, part of the County’s ongoing commitment to transparency and open government, invites community members to contribute suggestions for improving County services and efficiency.

The initiative, which operates under the County’s Home Rule Charter and Board Policy, provides residents with a direct line to County leaders. Submitted ideas are reviewed by County staff and presented to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration.

How Speak Up Brevard Works

  • Submission Period: Residents have until Jan. 31, 2025, to submit their proposals online via the Speak Up Brevardwebsite.
  • Evaluation: The County Manager’s Office will review all submissions and prepare comments for the Board of County Commissioners.
  • Commission Review: The Board will vote on whether to approve, reject, or revise each proposal.
  • Notification: Submitters will receive notice at least a week before their proposal is reviewed and may present during the designated agenda item.
  • Transparency: The County will publish all recommendations and outcomes on the Speak Up Brevard website.

Ongoing Opportunities for Engagement

Beyond Speak Up Brevard, the County offers additional ways for residents to engage with local government year-round:

  • Online Feedback: The Brevard County website provides tools for sharing input on topics such as the budget, transit services, and public safety.
  • Public Comments: Residents can voice their concerns or ideas at Board of County Commissioners meetings during designated public comment periods.
  • Direct Communication: Residents are encouraged to contact their District Commission office to discuss specific issues or propose agenda items.

This initiative underscores Brevard County’s dedication to fostering community involvement and ensuring that residents’ voices are heard in shaping local policies and services. For more information or to submit a recommendation, visit the Speak Up Brevard page on the County’s website.
