The Downtown Art Gallery is thrilled to announce Ann Welly Revels as their featured artist for October. Revels, a renowned fiber artist, will showcase her exhibition, “50 Years in Fibers,” featuring a diverse collection of her works.
Known for her innovative use of natural materials, Revels has spent decades exploring the rich potential of textiles, basketry, weaving, papermaking, and felting. Her recent focus has been on creating eco-conscious art, transforming discarded tropical palm boots into beautiful, functional baskets.
With a distinguished career in the fiber arts community, Revels has held leadership roles in state and local guilds and served as Florida’s representative to the Handweavers Guild of America. Her award-winning work consistently reflects her deep appreciation for nature, using organic materials to create pieces that inspire awe and wonder.
Revels’ art will be on display from October 7th through November 9th, alongside works by 20 local artists.
