The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) offered an update today regarding the temporary closure of the Titusville Post Office due to a recent mercury spill.
While the facility remains closed for decontamination, P.O. Box customers will have access to their mail starting May 31st through a mobile postal unit located in the post office parking lot.
“The safety and well-being of our customers and employees is a priority,” said a spokesperson for USPS Corporate Communications. “We appreciate customer patience as we work to reopen the facility as quickly and safely as possible.”
P.O. Box Service Available
Effective May 31st, P.O. Box customers can access their mail at the mobile unit located at the Titusville Post Office parking lot (2503 S. Washington Ave., Titusville, FL 32780). The mobile unit will operate during the following hours:
- Weekdays: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Customers are reminded to bring a valid photo ID for mail and package pickups.
Retail Services Available at Cocoa Main Post Office
Customers seeking retail services, including purchasing stamps, mailing, and shipping packages, can visit the Cocoa Main Post Office located at 2000 State Road 524, Cocoa, FL 32926. Their hours of operation are:
- Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed

USPS did not confirm the previously reported three-week closure timeframe. They emphasized their commitment to completing remediation efforts swiftly and safely before resuming full operations at the Titusville Post Office.
