Conover, NC – 32-year-old Timothy Edmond Tysdal, a resident of Monford Drive in Conover, found himself in police custody after Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers executed an arrest warrant on Friday, March 8th.
Tysdal faces extradition to another state, where he is wanted on felony charges by the Titusville Police Department.
The charges against Tysdal stem from an incident dating back to November of the previous year, according to documents filed by the Titusville Police Department.
Allegedly, Tysdal engaged in a heated argument with his girlfriend after she initiated proceedings for child support.
During the altercation, Tysdal purportedly threw the victim toward a bedroom window, resulting in the window shattering and causing a minor injury to the victim’s lower back.
Subsequently, Tysdal seized the victim’s cell phone and disabled all video and internet services at the residence, effectively hindering the victim’s ability to seek assistance from law enforcement.
Tysdal then departed from the scene, leaving the victim to seek refuge at her father’s residence, where she promptly contacted the authorities.
Upon his arrest in Conover, Tysdal was remanded to the Catawba County Detention Facility, where he remains incarcerated under a secured bond of $40,000.
As of the morning of March 11th, he continued to be detained. Tysdal’s first appearance in District Court was scheduled for today in Newton.
The arrest of Tysdal underscores the serious nature of domestic violence allegations and serves as a reminder of the importance of swiftly addressing such matters.
Local authorities urge anyone experiencing domestic violence or who has information regarding such incidents to come forward and seek assistance.
