The Canaveral National Seashore, managed by the National Park Service, has announced an adjustment in its entrance fees, effective January 1, 2024.
This increase is part of a broader effort to fund vital infrastructure and maintenance projects, aiming to enhance the overall visitor experience.

Starting next year, the entrance fees will be $25 per vehicle, $20 per motorcycle, and $15 for pedestrians or bicyclists, covering a seven-day visit. Additionally, the annual park pass will see an increase to $45.
The revenue generated from these fees will be retained by the National Park Service, with a minimum of 80 percent allocated to the Canaveral National Seashore. The remaining 20 percent will support various projects across other national parks.
This fee revision comes in response to the escalating needs for maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. The national parks have seen over 1.5 billion visitors in the past five years, leading to significant wear and tear on facilities. The United States is currently facing an $11.6 billion backlog in deferred maintenance across its national parks.
Specifically, the additional funds raised at Canaveral National Seashore will be channeled towards crucial maintenance and restoration of three historic structures: Eldora House, Shultz-Leeper House, and Seminole Rest. The park will also invest in research for erosion control and dune preservation, essential for maintaining the park’s natural beauty and resilience.
Canaveral National Seashore has charged an entrance fee since 1996 and is among 117 NPS sites with entrance fees. However, over 300 national parks remain free to enter.
The fees for the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Annual Pass and the Lifetime Senior Pass will continue to be $80.
As part of a standardized entrance fee structure, the NPS is aligning fees across parks based on size and type. Some parks will gradually adjust their fees to align with their respective categories by January 1, 2024.
