WEEKI WACHEE, FL – A man from Hernando County has been apprehended in relation to the Chase Bank robbery which occurred on Friday, July 21, 2023, in Titusville, Florida.
Nicholas Brooks Race, 40, of Weeki Wachee, Florida, was arrested and charged with Robbery, a 2nd-degree felony.

The suspect was located on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at approximately 11:40 AM at a hotel in Weeki Wachee, following a concerted multi-jurisdictional law enforcement effort.
The arrest was carried out by the United States Marshals Service Regional Tampa/Florida-Caribbean Fugitive Task Force, in conjunction with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. The operation was executed in compliance with an arrest warrant issued by the Titusville Police Department.
Upon arrest, Race was immediately booked into the Hernando County Jail, where he is currently being held on a $15,000 bond. His arrest brings to a close the multi-jurisdictional manhunt that had been ongoing since the Titusville Chase Bank was robbed.
The operation was bolstered by additional support from the Orlando Police Department and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office “Game Over” Task Force.
These additional units were instrumental in the successful apprehension of Race, demonstrating the effective cooperation and coordination among the various law enforcement agencies.
