One station is set to be located in Brevard County to cater to the flourishing space tourism and cruise industries in and around Port Canaveral.

Being the world’s busiest cruise port with more than 4 million passengers in 2022, Port Canaveral is a prime location for such a development.

Notably, local leaders, including Port Canaveral Vice Chair Micah Loyd, have previously expressed support for a station in nearby Cocoa

The other station will be situated on Florida’s Treasure Coast, north of West Palm Beach. The report states that high-speed rail service between Orlando and West Palm Beach could start as early as June, following the existing freight lines used by Florida East Coast Railway

Brightline’s standard operating procedure is to develop stations along new route endpoints first, then focus on intermediate stops later.

In terms of specific locations for the Treasure Coast station, both the city of Stuart in Martin County and Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County have shown interest.

The report also reveals that due to a lawsuit settlement, Brightline will open a Treasure Coast station within five years of opening its Orlando route. The agreement guarantees at least two northbound and two southbound trains will use this stop daily

The report doesn’t detail exact locations for each site, but some observers suggest that downtown Fort Pierce could be the most logical choice for the Treasure Coast station

Brightline’s report also targets a Tampa expansion through a proposed corridor with SunRail, which would enhance connectivity to Central Florida business destinations and major theme parks, such as SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Orlando Resort, and Walt Disney World Resort

The introduction of these stations could grow Brightline’s service to other parts of Florida and foster development, depending on their locations. The company believes that the new stations will not only facilitate more local travel but also engender goodwill among potential customers.
