Over the past several months, Titusville has been conducting a thorough analysis of its reclaimed water distribution and transmission system in response to reports of low pressure issues by customers.

Initial investigations into the system, particularly focusing on local neighborhoods, found no substantial issues.

However, a deeper probe revealed a potential leak in the transmission main originating from the Blue Heron Water Reclamation Facility.

The leak was identified in a remote and heavily wooded scrub area, posing challenges to accessibility. City crews are currently excavating the location to determine the leak’s magnitude and to facilitate necessary repairs.

The transmission main has been temporarily decommissioned and will remain so until all reparations are completed. Customers will be promptly notified of service resumption via an announcement on the city’s official website.

During this period, the reclaimed water in the distribution system will be sourced from the Osprey Water Reclamation Facility. As a consequence, customers located on the city’s south side are likely to experience significantly reduced pressure while the repair work is in progress.

The city expresses its gratitude towards its reclaimed water customers for their cooperation as the crews tirelessly work to mend the issue.

It encourages customers residing from Harrison Street north to limit their reclaimed water usage, in a bid to boost the flow towards the south. As always, all users of reclaimed water are reminded to adhere to the stipulated irrigation restrictions.

The city also emphasizes that irrigation should be seen as a supplement to normal rainfall rather than a replacement.

Restoration of the service is expected as soon as possible, as city crews work round the clock to rectify the problem.
