At approximately 8:40 PM on Sunday, January 31, 2021, Titusville Police responded to a report of an armed home invasion at a residence in the Park Villas Apartment Complex located at 1023 South Park Avenue, and have arrested a local 15-year-old in connection with the crime.
Jessiah Lamar Pickens, of Titusville, was arrested and charged with, 1st degree felony Armed Robbery Home Invasion, and 3rd degree felony Carrying a Concealed Firearm.
The preliminary investigation has revealed the suspect knocked on the victim’s front door and when the victim opened the door, he pointed a handgun at the victim, forced his way into the residence and demanded money and car keys.
The suspect fled on foot when the victim did not comply with his demands.
The victim was not injured.
Within ten minutes, the suspect, matching the witness’s description and with a handgun in his possession, was located by police in the parking area of the Morningside Apartment Complex, located at 1187 South Park Avenue, and taken into custody.
Pickens was transported to the Brevard County Juvenile Detention Center and placed in secured detention.
