The SPCA of Brevard Adoption Center, in collaboration with the Titusville Police Department and Titusville Fire Department, has launched an innovative program aimed at reuniting lost pets with their families.

Thanks to generous community donations, microchip scanners have been strategically placed in key locations throughout Titusville.

The microchip scanners are available for use after hours, providing a valuable resource when the SPCA, Brevard County Animal Services, or veterinary offices may be closed.

Pet owners who find a lost pet no longer need to wait until the next business day to take action. Instead, they can visit one of the following convenient locations to check for a microchip:

  • Titusville Fire & Emergency Services Station 10 (617 N Singleton Ave)
  • Titusville Fire & Emergency Services Station 11 (550 S Washington Ave)
  • Titusville Fire & Emergency Services Station 12 (2150 S Park Ave)
  • Titusville Fire & Emergency Services Station 13 (4710 Barna Ave)
  • Titusville Police Department (1100 John Glenn Blvd)

Each scanner station is equipped with a comprehensive handbook that provides step-by-step instructions on how to use the scanner and what to do after scanning, whether the pet has a microchip or not. By empowering the community with these tools, the program aims to significantly reduce the number of pets that end up in shelters.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Titusville Fire Department, Police Department, and our microchip scanner donors for their support in this initiative,” said the SPCA of North Brevard. “This is just the beginning! We hope to expand this program to other parts of Brevard County in the future.”

The Titusville Fire Department expressed their excitement about the program. “We are thrilled to have these chip scanners provided by our friends from the SPCA of Brevard Adoption Center and their generous donors,” they stated.

“We hope to be able to unite those beloved lost furry friends back to their owners more swiftly. Thank you, Rusty the dog, for being patient with us during the training and photo shoot. And thank you, Susan and Robyn the humans, for providing us with the equipment and training to offer this valuable service for our community.”

Pet owners are encouraged to visit the SPCA of North Brevard’s website or contact them directly for more information on the program and its services. Let’s work together to ensure every lost pet finds its way back home quickly and safely. 🐾
