Titusville police are investigating a shooting that left a woman hospitalized Tuesday evening.

Officers responded to the 1100 block of Third Avenue at 6:34 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, following reports of a residential shooting. Upon arrival, police found an adult female victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers provided life-saving measures at the scene before paramedics arrived. The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive her injuries.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Section and technicians from the Forensics Investigations Section responded to the scene to interview witnesses, canvass the neighborhood, and collect evidence. Major Jeremy Gonzalez, who manages the Investigations Division, emphasized the need for community assistance.

“This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and we are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything related to this incident to come forward,” Gonzalez said. “Even information that may seem minor could be critical in helping our detective’s piece together what happened.”

Gonzalez added that the department is committed to conducting a thorough investigation and pursuing justice for the victim.
