Marquis Daquan Cook, 27, was sentenced to 49.7 years in prison today by the 18th Judicial Circuit Court following his December conviction for a violent 2018 armed Titusville home invasion robbery.

Meanwhile, Cook’s accomplice, Dylan Mikail Robinson, is scheduled to appear in court on February 26, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Tesha Scolaro Ballou for a plea hearing, according to court records.

The robbery occurred on August 12, 2018, when Cook and Robinson forced their way into an apartment at 1231 Prairie Lane, assaulting two young men. Cook, then 19 and masked, struck one victim with a pistol and threatened the other victim at gunpoint, while Robinson kicked one victim repeatedly. The pair stole cash, a laptop, marijuana, and other items before fleeing.

Robinson’s personal iPhone, left behind during the robbery, displayed a photo of himself on the home screen. Officers used the image to identify him via Facebook, where Cook was also linked as a mutual friend. A victim’s stolen iPhone was later tracked and recovered nearby using the “Find My iPhone” app. Both suspects were identified in photo lineups and arrested days later.

At the time of the crime, Cook was on active felony probation, and Robinson—a convicted felon—was found with ammunition during a July 2018 search of his home, violating his parole. Cook’s conviction and sentencing mark a significant milestone in the case, while Robinson’s upcoming court appearance will determine the next steps in his prosecution.

Cook was convicted under Florida statutes for armed home invasion robbery, aggravated assault with a weapon, and probation violation. Robinson faces charges including armed robbery and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

The case, investigated by Officer Joshua Bernd of the Titusville Police Department, highlighted the role of digital evidence in securing Cook’s conviction.
