Space-bound students can secure their spot in the next generation of explorers as tickets for Camp Kennedy Space Center 2026 go on sale Jan. 21.
The summer day camp, located at the KSC Visitor’s Center, invites students ages 7 through 16 to participate in a five-day program centered on NASA-based science, technology, engineering, and math. Starting at $450 plus tax, the program runs weekly from May 25 through July 31.

Registration and Queue Process
Officials at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex expect high web traffic and have implemented an online queue for the launch of ticket sales. Reservations must be made online, as the facility will not accept phone bookings for the program.
Organizers advise parents to have payment methods, camper birthdates, and preferred camp weeks ready before joining the virtual line. Opening multiple browser windows is discouraged, as it may slow the registration process.
Age-Specific Teams
To ensure age-appropriate curriculum, campers are divided into four specific groups based on their birthdates:
| Team Name | Birthdate Range |
| Pathfinder | June 1, 2017 – May 31, 2019 |
| Spirit | June 1, 2015 – May 31, 2017 |
| Opportunity | June 1, 2013 – May 31, 2015 |
| Ingenuity | June 1, 2009 – May 31, 2013 |
Parents are cautioned to verify birthdates carefully; registrations for the incorrect age group will be canceled and will not be eligible for attendance.
Hands-on Training
Campers will engage in high-tech simulations, including a microgravity simulator that mimics a frictionless environment and a virtual reality exploration of the Mars surface. Other activities include robotics optimization, botany labs focused on space-grown vegetables, and a simulated spaceflight from Florida to the Red Planet.
“Campers are entertained and challenged with curriculum comprised of exciting and educational adventures,” according to a statement from the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
Logistics and Safety
The camp operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuition includes daily lunch, a T-shirt, and admission wristbands for up to four family members to visit the complex on the final day of camp.
Participants must be fluent in English and meet specific health and height requirements for simulators. A height of at least 48 inches is required for the microgravity simulator, while the rover simulator requires a minimum height of 51 inches. Organizers also noted that scheduled rocket launches may lead to the cancellation of camp activities for that day.
