The Brevard County Utility Services Department has issued a precautionary boil water notice for a section of the Mims water service area following a water main break.
The notice applies to residents on the following streets and addresses:
- Dunsford Rd.
- Sherwood Dr.
- Palace Pl.
- Ayrshire Dr.
- Sir Page Lane: 4490, 4528, 4529, 4536, 4544, 4552, 4553, 4561, 4576, 4584, 4592, 4598, 4605
- Castle Drive: 1717, 1726, 1733, 1734, 1741, 1742, and 1755
The water main break occurred near 4615 Dunsford Rd. Repair work has been completed and water service has been restored to the affected residents.
As a precaution, the notice advises residents to boil all water used for consumption. This includes water for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and washing dishes. A rolling boil for one minute is sufficient to make the water safe. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.
The precautionary notice will remain in effect until the Brevard County Utility Services Department confirms the water is safe through a bacteriological survey. Residents will be notified when the notice is lifted.
