Authorities have arrested a local man accused of sexually battering a juvenile after luring the victim through social media, with police now urging other potential victims to come forward.

On Friday, May 30, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Titusville Police Department officers responded to a sexual battery report near the 3500 block of South Street Highway. Patrol units met with the reporting party and began searching for the suspect.

Investigators learned that the suspect, identified as Yamani Serrano, DOB 12-31-2004, of Titusville, attempted to evade law enforcement by summoning a ride-sharing service. Officers intercepted the service and took Serrano into custody.

Detectives determined that Serrano had contacted the juvenile victim via social media, offering nicotine products as a lure. After arranging an in-person meeting, Serrano led the victim into nearby woods off South Street, confiscated the victim’s phone, and instructed the juvenile to perform sexual acts in exchange for its return.

Following the act, Serrano destroyed the phone. The victim fled to the roadway and flagged down a passing motorist, who alerted authorities. Notably, the ride-sharing service Serrano attempted to use was the same motorist who assisted the victim.

Serrano faces the following charges:

• 1 count of Sexual Battery, victim over 12 years of age by someone over 18 years of age
• 1 count of Witness Tampering
• 1 count of Theft

Serrano is currently held at the Brevard County Detention Center on a no-bond status.

Titusville Police Department believes there may be additional victims of Serrano who have not yet come forward and is urging anyone with information to contact authorities.

“This individual poses a serious concern to public safety, and we believe there are additional victims who have not yet come forward. We urge anyone with information to contact us—your voice matters, and your courage can help prevent further harm,” said Detective Ashley Kube.
