A fatal crash on I-95 in Mims has left one woman dead and a child seriously injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Troopers responded to the scene of the crash, which occurred at approximately 11:51 a.m. in the northbound lanes near mile marker 223.

FHP say preliminary evidence indicates that a 2007 Ford F-150, towing a travel trailer, was traveling northbound on I-95 south of State Road 46 when the driver lost control for an unknown reason.
The vehicle overcorrected, rotated, and began to overturn. The truck came to rest on its roof in the inside lane, with the trailer overturned onto its right side.
There were three occupants from Vero Beach in the vehicle. The driver, a 73 year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. An eight-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. A 74 year-old male passenger was not injured and remained on-scene.
All northbound lanes of I-95 were blocked, traffic was diverted onto State Road 406 (Garden Street). The crash remains under investigation.
