A local woman lost her life in a devastating hit-and-run incident that took place in the early hours of Saturday, December 16, 2023.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:10 AM at the intersection of 3600 South Street and Park Avenue.

According to the preliminary investigation by Titusville Police, the victim was riding as a passenger on a 2009 Harley Davidson cruiser model motorcycle, operated by Ryan Emory Lobe, 34, of Titusville.

The motorcycle was traveling northbound on South Street (SR 405) when it was struck by an unidentified vehicle, believed to be a possibly black car. The car reportedly ran a red light at the intersection, leading to the catastrophic collision.

Ryan Lobe sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. However, the impact proved fatal for his adult female passenger. She was rushed to a local hospital but, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, succumbed to her injuries around 5 AM.

There were no other reported injuries from the incident. The tragic event has sparked an intensive traffic investigation by local authorities. The Titusville Police Department is diligently working to uncover further details, and the investigation remains active.
