Angel Vasquez-Cotto, 28, came to the attention of police when he got into an altercation with the girl’s father. The man told police Vasquez-Cotto had pepper sprayed him.
Police said Vasquez-Cotto had been seen repeatedly outside the girl’s home attempting to talk to her and even taking photographs of her, according to arrest reports.
The girl told police she was afraid of Vasquez-Cotto and that he had been stalking and harassing her for several months, according to the affidavit.
Police also said Vasquez-Cotto had made references to sexual activity with the child in social media posts.
He was charged aggravated stalking, a third-degree felony punishable by a maximum of five years in prison, if convicted.
Vasquez-Cotto currently is being held at the Brevard County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.
