Mark Dalton Taylor, 25, of Titusville, has been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened on the 4200 block of Tiwa Lane at approximately 3:45 a.m. early Saturday morning.

According to Amy Matthews, the Titusville police public information officer, Taylor was charged with three Felony counts Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, one Felony count of Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle and Loitering and Prowling.

“The preliminary investigation done by the Titusville Police Department has revealed that the two adult female victims and one juvenile victim were delivering newspapers when they drove past the suspect who was walking on the street,” said Matthews.

“As the victims rolled the vehicle window down, the suspect fired a bullet from a handgun and struck the vehicle.”

Matthews said there were no injuries and the suspect then fled the scene on foot.

The vehicle was rendered disabled and Titusville police units arrived on the scene, established a perimeter, and began searching for the at-large suspect.

“Within minutes, the suspect was located by police on a nearby dock, taken into custody without incident, positivity identified and booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond,” said Matthews.
