The single-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. near the intersection of L Pond Road. Investigators reported that the driver of a sedan was traveling northbound when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve.

The vehicle began to rotate counterclockwise, ran off the roadway to the right, and overturned. The sedan became completely submerged upside down in the water, troopers said.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 43-year-old female passenger, also from Titusville, was able to escape the vehicle. She was transported to Parrish Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The make and model of the vehicle have not yet been determined as it remains submerged.

FHP confirmed the crash remains under investigation and the vehicle will be examined once it is recovered from the water.
