The Titusville Police Department (TPD) is investigating a “shots fired” incident that occurred near the 1400 block of North Washington Avenue, prompting a brief lockdown at Temple Christian School.

According to a social media post by TPD, the incident originated in Mims and carried over into Titusville’s jurisdiction. Police responded to the scene after reports of gunshots in the vicinity of the school.

A school resource officer at Temple Christian School immediately placed the school on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

No students or staff were reported to be harmed or injured during the incident, which took place in front of the school on Washington Avenue.

The Titusville Police Department stated that it is currently working with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) on the active investigation. No additional information has been released at this time.
