A Titusville man will spend the remainder of his life in state prison after being sentenced Wednesday for the repeated sexual battery of a seven-year-old family member.
Kristiane Calero, 44, received multiple life sentences during a hearing on August 20 in Viera. The sentence, handed down by Circuit Judge Curt Jacobus, follows Calero’s conviction by a jury in June.

According to the State Attorney’s Office, the sentence includes:
- Natural life in prison for 10 counts of sexual battery on a victim younger than 12.
- Natural life in prison for two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation on a victim younger than 12.
- 35.8 years for one count of providing obscene material to a minor.
Judge Jacobus also declared Calero a sexual predator.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Kerri-Ann McGuire and Jennifer Mostert. Following the conviction, McGuire expressed her satisfaction with the outcome.
“I’m glad the jury stuck through the case, listened to all the evidence, and brought justice to our community,” McGuire said. “This is why I do what I do, to bring justice to Brevard County.”
The State Attorney’s Office noted that it made no plea offer in the case, opting instead to proceed to trial to seek the maximum possible conviction and sentence.
According to information released by prosecutors, Calero confessed to Titusville Police investigators in 2022. He told investigators the crimes occurred dozens of times at his apartment off South Park Avenue in early 2022, in the months following his wife’s death from COVID-19. Calero also admitted to showing online pornography to the child victim. The young victim confirmed these details while testifying at trial.
Calero still faces separate charges of sexual battery, lewd and lascivious molestation, and computer solicitation of a child in a case involving an 11-year-old babysitter.
