A devastating car crash in Titusville has left an infant in critical condition and led to the arrest of a 25-year-old woman on DUI charges.
The incident occurred on Wednesday around 8 p.m. at the intersection of S Park Avenue and Brittany Way.
Brittany Hamilton, a Cocoa resident, was driving a Scion when she collided with a Mitsubishi, causing severe front-end damage to both vehicles.
The Mitsubishi was carrying two females and an infant less than a year old. All three were hospitalized, with the infant’s condition being reported as critical.
According to the Titusville Police Department, Hamilton displayed signs of intoxication at the scene, including glassy and bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and a strong alcoholic odor.

Despite claiming to have consumed only one shot of vodka two hours prior, Hamilton refused to participate in field sobriety exercises and also declined a breath test.
Hamilton faces charges of DUI with serious bodily injury and DUI with property damage. She was transferred to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
She has been approved for pre-trial release under conditions that include abstaining from alcohol and illegal drugs, as well as mandatory drug testing. Hamilton is scheduled to appear in court on October 19.
