Titusville Police Department detectives are currently investigating a homicide involving a male adult who was fatally shot in the early hours of Monday morning.

The incident took place at a residence on the 600 block of Palmetto Street.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 3:30 AM on April 24, 2023. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered the victim, Carl F. Wigfall, 56, of Titusville, inside the home, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As the homicide investigation continues, the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting remain at large.

Authorities believe the individual(s) responsible for the crime had prior knowledge of the victim.

Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.

Detectives are actively working on all leads and have called on the public for assistance in this matter.
