On March 15, 2023, a concerned customer from Victorio’s Restaurant took to social media to share an incident involving three individuals falsely claiming to be affiliated with Parrish Corporate.

These individuals attempted to use a Parrish Medical Center credit card to purchase $411.82 worth of food for a supposed “Parrish Corporate” luncheon.

Parrish Administration had not authorized any luncheon on that date and swiftly launched an internal investigation to uncover the truth.

The Patient Experience Manager reached out to the customer and restaurant manager to gather more information and assure them that such behavior was not condoned by Parrish Healthcare.

The restaurant manager confirmed that a woman who called in the order on March 14 repeatedly claimed to be with Parrish Corporate. Furthermore, the manager reported the woman’s rude and discourteous conduct.

On March 15, two other individuals arrived to pick up the order, also claiming to be affiliated with Parrish. Their attempt to use a Parrish Medical Center credit card was unsuccessful.

Considering the serious nature of the fraud and defamation attempt against Parrish Medical Center, a public entity, and public officials of the state of Florida, President/CEO George Mikitarian instructed the Chief Compliance Officer to conduct a thorough investigation in collaboration with law enforcement.

The investigation revealed that the two women seen on restaurant video footage were not Parrish Healthcare employees. IT staff found no email matches, reimbursement requests, or phone calls to Victorio’s from Parrish on March 14 or 15.

Parrish Healthcare Department leaders and employees with the same first names as those involved in the incident were interviewed, but no findings emerged.

As a result, the Titusville Police Department has opened a case file on the matter for attempted fraud and identity theft.

Parrish is offering a $500 gift card to Victorio’s as a reward for anyone providing information leading to the arrest of those responsible.
