Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting – January 8th 2023

Learn about what’s happening at tonight’s Planning and Zoning Commission, scheduled for 6pm in the City Council Chamber at City Hall.

The items below marked in bold are the individual items being discussed.

Conditional Use Permit (CUP) 7-2022, 1881 Knox Mc Rae Drive
The Planning and Zoning Commission will make a suggestion about changing the land use on 3.8 acres of property at 1881 Knox Mc Rae Drive. The change would be from Commercial High Intensity Land Use to High Density Residential Land Use.

This change will be voted on by the City Council on February 28, 2023. At this hearing, the City Council will review the proposed CUP and listen to feedback from the public. Based on this review and feedback, the City Council will make a decision as to whether or not to approve the CUP.

Small Scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment (SSA) #9-2022 – Wealth Hospitality
The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing and make a suggestion about changing the land use on 3.8 acres of property at 1881 Knox Mc Rae Drive. The change would be from Commercial High Intensity Land Use to High Density Residential Land Use. This change will be voted on by the City Council on February 28, 2023. The zoning district would also change from Community Commercial (CC) to Multi-family High Density Residential (R-3).

Small Scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment (SSA) No. 10-2022, Titusville Chance Partners / Columbia Boulevard
The Commission will make a recommendation to approve or deny a plan to change a 32.55 acre portion of a 39.29 acre property from Commercial High Intensity Land Use Category to High Density Residential Land Use Category and from the Regional Commercial (RC) zoning district to the Planned Development (PD) zoning district with a master plan and conditions. The City Council will make a decision on February 28, 2023.

Sisson Road Townhomes – Sketch Plat
The Commission will recommend approval of the sketch plat for Sisson Road Townhomes.
The City Council will consider the sketch plat at their regular meeting on February 14, 2023.

Falcon’s Roost – Sketch Plat
Recommend approval of the sketch plat for Falcon’s Roost.
The City Council will consider the sketch plat at their regular meeting on February 14, 2023.

Verona, Village B Final Plat
Approve the Final Plat and second supplement to covenants for Verona, Village B, and accept performance bonds for completion of required infrastructure and sidewalks. (This agenda item is quasi-judicial.)        

Election of Officers
P&Z BY-LAWS ARTICLE IV.           ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Section 1.        The Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission shall be elected by said Commission from its number, for a term of one (1) year, or until a successor is qualified and elected. The Commission shall, from its number, fill any vacancy of the office of the Chairman.  The election of Planning and Zoning Commission Officers shall be held the first regular meeting in the month of February each year.

Section 2.        The Vice-Chairman and Secretary shall be elected by the Planning and Zoning Commission from its number, and the terms of office shall be concurrent with that of the Chairman. The Commission shall, from its number, fill any vacancy in the office of the Vice-Chairman or Secretary.
