Fire breaks out at Emerald Place Apartments

Emerald Place Apartments were the scene of a structure fire at approximately 2:15 pm Friday afternoon

The Titusville Fire Department, with assistance from the Brevard County Fire Rescue, responded to the report of the fire at the apartments located at 1005 Tree Ln.

Upon arrival, Titusville Fire said heavy smoke and fire were observed coming from the roof. The fire was also noted to be coming from a balcony on the second floor, along with heavy smoke.

Due to the location and extent of the fire, extensive overhaul is needed. Personnel will be on the scene for some time performing salvage and overhaul.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the State Fire Marshal is on scene investigating.

One dog was removed from the building and reunited with the owners. No injuries were reported and no extension to other buildings.
