Playalinda Beach, a popular destination in the Canaveral National Seashore, is set to reopen on January 3rd, 54 days after it was damaged by Hurricane Nicole.

The National Park Service has announced that visitors will only be able to access parking areas and boardwalks at numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7.

The road and beach north of parking area 7 will remain closed for safety and resource protection purposes.

The beach, located in Brevard County, is known for its views of rocket launches from Kennedy Space Center and is a popular nesting site for turtles.

However, the north end of the beach suffered extensive damage and is currently undergoing repairs.

The National Park Service is considering whether to rebuild the boardwalks, provide alternate forms of access, or keep certain areas off-limits.
