Local Law Enforcement Host National K9 Training Event

Over 60 Law Enforcement and Civilian Search and Rescue K9 teams from across the country and Canada recently gathered in Titusville, Florida for a week of training at the American Police Hall of Fame.

The 2022 North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) Florida State Workshop hosted practical training sessions from Master Trainers.

Attendees received expert information from nationally recognized speakers on topics such as Narcotics, Cadaver, Explosives, Tracking and Trailing, Building and Area Searching, Aggression Control, Obedience and Police Utility Dog disciplines.

The Titusville Police Department along with Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), NAPWDA National Narcotics Detector Dog Association APHOF & Florida Department of Law Enforcement made this training possible by providing an on-site venue through Brevard County Parks & Recreation.

Furthermore Sergeant John Cantalupo stated “the many skills acquired during this workshop become a vital part of law enforcement’s proactive policing”. Additionally local businesses benefited immensely due to influx visitors resulting in increased revenue sources such as hotels restaurants & attractions.
