Wade Field, accused of shooting, killing Titusville motel owner, now in jail

Records show Wade Field, 31, was booked into the Brevard County jail on Friday in connection with the fatal shooting on November 16th.

According to Titusville Police, Daniel Wade, 64, the owner of the Siesta Motel on South Washington Avenue, was sitting at a table with an employee when they say Field drove into the parking lot. The employee said she saw Field exit the vehicle and go to his room, which he had occupied since June, then quickly came back out, and walked over to Wade and shot him.

The witness stated there was no argument between the victim and Field before the shooting, and said that Field was laughing and smiling while he shot Wade. The employee witness stated Field then tried shooting her, but his firearm malfunctioned, and he fled the scene southbound in South Washington Avenue.

Daniel Wade’s wife gave Titusville Police officers a copy of Fields ID, which listed a residence on Forest Road.

Officers arrived to the home on Forest Road, where they witnessed field, talking to a female, later identified as Fields mother.

Officers then confronted Field in his vehicle, and when officers exited their vehicles, Field exited his vehicle with a gun in his hand. When confronted by officers, Field shot himself in the head. He was then taken into custody and transported to the hospital.

Field faces charges of first-degree premeditated murder and attempted murder.
