The old Legacy Academy Charter might become housing soon

Legacy Academy Charter school closed down permanently in 2020 after Brevard County Public Schools filed a complaint on the charter campus because it failed to meet academic and fiscal standards. Now the future of the building might be housing.

The current owners of the property, Village Charter Holdings LLC based in Utah, have filed documents with the City to change the zoning of the property from the current Community Commercial to Multifamily High Density Residential.

There are currently three meetings scheduled to discuss the zoning change:
Planning and Zoning Committee Meeting – February 8, 2023
First City Council Meeting – February 14, 2023
Second City Council Meeting – February 28, 2023
