The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office along with the Board of County Commissioners and our Public Safety partners, continue to monitor the storm projections of Tropical Depression 9.
As a result of a potential impact to Brevard County, the Sheriff’s Office will be distributing sandbags (at no cost) to our citizens, at five different locations throughout Brevard County.
In an effort to expedite the process, we will be using inmate labor to fill and load the sandbags directly into our citizen’s vehicles at four different locations.
This will be conducted under the direct supervision of Sheriff’s Office employees. Each vehicle can obtain up to 10 free sandbags, in order to help prepare and protect their homes and businesses.
A location at Mitchell Ellington Park will be open for distribution beginning tomorrow, September 24th, through Monday, September 26th from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (or until supplies last).
Three additional distribution locations (North Brevard Area, Central Brevard Area and South Brevard Area) will be open for distribution beginning Sunday, September 25th, through Monday, September 26th from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (or until supplies last).
